What to Expect on Your First Visit

On your initial visit to our office, Dr. Budd will discuss your medical and dental history, your reasons for seeking treatment, and the results you desire.  This will be followed with a periodontal examination and if necessary, films will be taken.  No further treatment will be done at this initial appointment.

Periodontal diagnosis and treatment requires a detailed study of your condition by way of examination, films, and other diagnostic procedures.  This information will be needed to determine an effective treatment plan for you.  Please feel free to ask any questions during your initial appointment as your understanding is vital to the success of your treatment.

What to Bring on Your First Visit

Please assist us at the time of your initial visit to our office by providing the following information:

• Your referral slip and any x-rays from your referring dentist (You may request your referring dentist to forward x-rays to our office.)
• A list of medications you are currently taking.
• Completed patient registration and confidential health history forms (available for download below.)
• If you have dental insurance, please bring any forms or insurance cards with you to the appointment.

Please note: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the initial examination appointment.

Please notify our office if you have a medical condition or concern prior to surgery (eg: artificial heart valves or joints, heart murmurs requiring premedication, severe diabetes, or hypertension.)

Financial Options

Several factors determine the fee for periodontal therapy, including the complexity and advancement of your periodontal situation.  You will be informed of any fees before commencement of treatment.  We understand that your dental benefits insurance may not cover all of the cost of your treatment, and we make every effort to help you maximize your coverage and reimbursement.  Our treatment coordinator will discuss your financial options with you.  Our office accepts, VISA, MasterCard, and Interac Debit.  We would be pleased to help arrange for dental financing.
