Pocket Reduction Surgery
Pocket Reduction Surgery
The choice of surgical technique depends on the type and severity of the disease in your mouth. You cannot predictably keep deep pockets free of plaque just by brushing and flossing. Therefore, surgical treatment may be necessary to remove plaque and calculus that is below the gum line.
The periodontal pockets are reduced and the gums repositioned to eliminate areas where disease causing bacteria can grow.
